Litmus7 has established Deep Future Intelligence (DFI) as its dedicated research and development wing, a specialized center focused on building the futuristic technologies that will define the next era of technology and human interaction.
Led by Venu Gopalakrishnan, CEO of Litmus7, and driven by Chief Scientist Shiju Saseendran, DFI functions as the company's innovation engine for its most forward-looking bets, with a central focus on advancing Neural Intelligence and exploring technologies that do not yet exist in commercially viable form but are critical to where the world is heading."
“Deep Future Intelligence is where we ask the questions nobody is asking yet and build the answers the world will need,” said Gopalakrishnan.
DFI’s research agenda spans some of the most consequential frontiers in technology today. The center is actively working on Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) and Sentient Machines capable of independent reasoning, with a Sentient OS planned as a future phase of development. On the data side, DFI is exploring DNA Data Storage as a radical rethinking of how knowledge is preserved and retrieved at scale. A dedicated robotics program examines how intelligent machines can function alongside people in practical, everyday environments. Together, these efforts are directed toward establishing India’s own domain of intelligence, where knowledge becomes a transactable, digital currency that empowers individuals across every level of society.
“At DFI, we are not building another layer on top of existing machine learning—we are architecting a new foundation for Neural Intelligence. From intelligent operating systems to DNA-encoded memory, we are engineering the cognitive infrastructure for humanity’s next evolutionary leap,” said Shiju Saseendran, Chief Scientist, DFI.
DFI did not emerge in isolation. Years of working with large retail organizations at Litmus7 surfaced a recurring insight: technology consistently served businesses better than it served people. DFI was established to correct that imbalance, starting with consumer decision-making and extending toward the broader infrastructure of an intelligent internet.
Operating out of Trivandrum, DFI reflects Litmus7’s long-standing belief that advanced technology must be democratized. Its roadmap includes proprietary operating systems, purpose-built hardware, and longer-term research into brain-computer interfaces. Backed by strategic investments of about 10 million USD, the initiative is designed to accelerate innovation while building a scalable and future-ready technology ecosystem.
“The most advanced technology in the world should improve lives at every level. That is what we are here to build,” said Venu Gopalakrishnan.
