Typically, bacterial expression involves the induction of cells by using a chemical inducer like IPTG. While chemical induction is a viable method for recombinant protein production, researchers have devised a new alternative to chemical induction by exploiting an Oxygen-responsive E. coli promoter in order to perform high density growth in LB medium that corresponded to robust recombinant protein expression.
