Mangalayatan University, which has NAAC A+ grade, is pleased to inform you that there are two new undergraduate courses, starting at Mangalayatan University, viz. **Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Defence and Strategic Studies and Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Defence and Strategic Studies. The formal opening event will be held on the 17 th July 2025 at the university campus at 11:30 AM.

This is a strategic academic program that points to the interest of the institution to develop intellectual excellence and equip future-ready professionals in the field of national security and strategic affairs. The new programs being introduced are carefully crafted in order to respond to the changing demands of defence, security, and geopolitical processes.

The B.A. Defence and Strategic Studies program is based on theoretical/historical/policy-oriented perspectives and the subjects to be studied include military history, international relations, and strategic thought. Conversely, the B.Sc. Defence and Strategic Studies program takes a scientific and technical view, which provides an insight into defence technology, cybersecurity, disaster management, and operational strategies.

The duration of both programs is four years and is accessible to candidates who have taken their 10+ 2 education with at least 45% marks by a recognized board.

Emphasis on the importance of this launch was made by a spokesperson of the university, who said, the courses are future oriented and will help equip India with strategic minds, by balancing between academic rigor and relevance to the world.

Famous special invitees will be present at the launch event, such as former servicemen, paramilitary officers, well-respected village leaders, and this will highlight that the university is very active in defence community as well as in the society.

The students of these programs will be in a good position to pursue various career topics in the Armed Forces, paramilitary forces, intelligence agencies, civil services, and homeland security. Also, the students are able to train on competitive examinations like UPSC, CDS, and CAPF.
