The innovative system was designed to offset energy usage and achieve greater energy independence, building on the success of their first installation at Golf Shop Online in Exeter.
As a leading online retailer of golfing equipment, Foremost Golf continued its green energy push with this second phase of its renewable energy strategy, aligning with its corporate social responsibility goals and environmentally conscious business practices.
- The comprehensive installation included:
- Technical Survey and Esdec flat roof mounting system
- 131 x 455W high output panels across three arrays
- 936 Esdec wave blocks with ballast loading (no roof penetrations)
- DC/AC electrical connections and roof mounted inverter
- Online monitoring system and NICEIC certification
- Full design and DNO consultation
The team utilised the building's vast flat EDPM roof, strategically positioning panels in a south-facing configuration using the Esdec fast fix fusion mounting system. The inverter was mounted on the north side to avoid UV damage and eliminate running DC cables into the building. The installation was completed in just 3.5 days, thanks to the revolutionary mounting system design.
Since its completion in September 2025, the system has delivered £11,809 in estimated annual electricity bill savings while supporting Foremost Golf's sustainability commitments.
An M&E Contrax spokesperson commented: "Foremost Golf HQ demonstrates how commercial solar installations enhance operational efficiency and environmental responsibility. The 59.61kW system showcases properly engineered flat roof solar solutions with impressive environmental impact - avoiding 423,905 car kilometres equivalent and representing 2,725 trees planted over its operational lifespan.
“We're proud to support Foremost Golf's commitment to sustainability while delivering tangible cost savings that benefit their entire operation."
