JACKSON, MS (October 17, 2025) – Turning Point Mission Center Church, of Jackson, will be
participating in the nationwide Whole Foods Market sponsored “Stuff the Van” event, on October 21 at
11:00 a.m. at the local Whole Foods Market store location on I-55 North in Jackson. Whole Foods
Market partners will be on site to collect and stuff their donated vans with partner sponsored products.
Whole Foods Market launched the Nourishing Our Neighborhoods program in September 2020 by
donating refrigerated vans to help recipients across the United States, Canada, and UK to transport food
in their respective communities where they may be experiencing food insecurities. Through this
program, they have donated vans to 83 recipients. Food distribution programs participate in the
company’s Grocery Rescue Program by picking up food from their local stores weekly to redistribute it
to community neighbors as quickly as possible.
Turning Point Mission Center Church, an affiliate of Lighthouse Outreach Ministries, in Jackson, MS
launched its Welcome Table Food Ministry in 2010 providing breakfast and lunch to the homeless and
indigent at Battlefield Park in South Jackson and Midtown. In 2015, the ministry was combined with its
weekly food distribution program and currently serves about 60 people weekly at its church location
every Wednesday at 1812 Shady Lane Drive.
“We are excited and very blessed to have been selected for this program and to participate in this event.
As we offer spiritual food through our bible studies and lessons, being able to provide physical food is
also a part of our mission to address the needs of our community here in South Jackson,” said Elder
Arnette D. Owen, Welcome Table Food Ministry Director and Pastor of Turning Point Mission Center
Church.
