CHENNAI, Tamil Nadu – October 26, 2023 – The VMLS team distinguished itself through its rigorous legal research, compelling argumentation, and profound understanding of complex tax jurisprudence. The final round saw them argue a complex case concerning international tax treaties and digital service taxation before a panel of sitting High Court judges and senior tax advocates.

In addition to winning the overall competition, team member Priya Menon was awarded the ‘Best Speaker’ prize for her eloquent and persuasive advocacy during the final rounds.
“It was an incredibly challenging but rewarding experience,” said Aarav Sharma, the team’s lead researcher. “The competition pushed us to think critically and collaboratively. We are grateful to our coach, Professor Mehra, and the entire faculty for their unwavering support throughout our preparation.”
The All-India Tax Law Moot Court Competition is one of the nation's most respected mooting events, known for tackling contemporary and intricate legal issues.
