Raunak Kumar, a Computer Science and Data Analytics student at the Indian Institute of Technology Patna (IIT Patna), has published two collections of Hindi-Urdu poetry under his pen name Raunak Karn. The books are available on Amazon, Flipkart, and Notion Press for readers in India and internationally.
The two collections are titled "Andhere Me Parchae" and "Badnaam Na Honge To Naam Na Hoga." Both follow the classical Ghazal form — a structured style of Urdu poetry with deep roots in South Asian literary tradition. The writing explores themes of identity, solitude, resilience, and the emotional experience of being young in modern India.
Raunak's poetry has been featured on Rekhta, one of India's most respected platforms for Urdu literature, as well as on Poetistic. His readership has grown organically, particularly among young readers who connect with classical poetic forms written in a contemporary voice.
Alongside his literary work, Raunak is a practicing Full-Stack Developer, building web applications while completing his undergraduate degree. He approaches both fields with the same discipline — structured thinking, attention to detail, and a commitment to building something that lasts.
"I started writing because I had things I needed to say and poetry was the only form honest enough to say them in," says Raunak Karn. "Publishing these books was about making that writing permanent and accessible."
His books can be found by searching "Raunak Karn" on Amazon.in and Flipkart, or through his author page on Notion Press.
