London, [18-08-2026] — Phase One Works has been appointed to carry out enabling works at The Crescent in the City of London, under a dual contract awarded by a leading international hotel group that also covers Atlas House nearby.
The appointment forms part of a wider redevelopment programme in the City. Both buildings sit in dense, fully occupied surroundings, and the works were planned around an 11-week programme with detailed coordination completed ahead of mobilisation to keep disruption to neighbouring occupiers and the surrounding streets to a minimum.
At The Crescent, the scope covered a full strip out returning the building to shell and core, together with the drain down and removal of existing MEP plant and the removal of asbestos-containing materials. Phase One Works also installed temporary site services, fire alarm systems and intruder alarms to maintain safety and security across the site for the duration of the programme, alongside full perimeter hoarding and external power supplies to support CCTV monitoring.
A significant element of the works involved careful removal and storage of materials for reuse rather than disposal. Glazed partition walls, doors, kitchen units, light fixtures and air conditioning units were all taken out intact and set aside for reuse elsewhere in the client's estate, supporting the hotel group's sustainability objectives and cutting the volume of material leaving site.
