The company's position is that a grade name is only as reliable as the criteria and verification behind it -- and two suppliers using the identical label can deliver noticeably different real-world results.
There is no third-party grading standard that every supplier in the aftermarket iPhone LCD industry follows. A grade name is a marketing label chosen to position a product commercially; it may or may not correspond to a documented internal classification, and neither is the same thing as measurable, verifiable performance. For a buyer comparing quotes from multiple suppliers, that distinction matters more than which label sounds more impressive.
Buyers who move past the label, the company says, should be comparing display performance, touch response, brightness and color consistency, backlight uniformity, and physical fit -- judged against a known-good reference and across multiple samples rather than a single unit. Display performance in particular should be assessed relative to a reference screen rather than in isolation, since a screen can look acceptable on its own and still fall short once placed next to a stronger sample. Touch response, one of the more common sources of post-installation complaints, warrants deliberate full-surface testing rather than a quick check, and a supplier's willingness to allow that kind of structured testing is itself informative.
The same grade producing different results across suppliers, the company notes, generally comes down to variables a buyer can't see directly: how a supplier defines the grade internally, differences in components or materials, normal production-run variation, and how thoroughly units are inspected before shipment. Market positioning plays a role too -- a supplier serving a price-sensitive market may calibrate a "standard" grade differently than one serving higher-expectation buyers, even while using similar vocabulary.
The company also points out that there is no single quality level that is universally best; the right choice depends on a buyer's target market, customer expectations, selling price, and acceptable return risk, rather than an abstract ranking of grades from best to worst. A price-sensitive wholesaler and a distributor supplying premium retail channels may reasonably land on different quality levels for the same reason -- their commercial exposure to a defect is different.
A recurring theme in the company's framing is that one strong sample does not confirm what a full production batch will look like. A single unit shows what a supplier is capable of producing, not what it will consistently deliver -- which is why grade evaluation, in the company's view, needs to connect to ongoing sample testing, incoming inspection, and defect tracking rather than a one-time judgment on the first unit received. The company also weighs quality against total procurement cost, noting that a lower unit price can lose its apparent advantage once returns, replacement shipments, reinstallation labor, and warranty handling are counted.
"A grade name tells you what a supplier wants to call the product. It doesn't tell you what the product will do once it's in your customer's hands," said Aokai, who has more than two decades of experience in phone LCD parts procurement and supply chain management at Shenzhen Huikaicheng Technology. "The buyers who get fewer surprises are the ones who ask what a grade specifically guarantees and how it's verified, instead of comparing labels side by side."
