T.N. inks pacts with Hinduja Group and AstraZeneca during CM Stalin’s U.K. visit

Tamil Nadu has attracted ₹15,516 crore in investments through the investor conclave in the U.K. and Germany, Mr. Stalin says in a post on X

 
Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has said Tamil Nadu has secured total investments of ₹15,516 crore, creating 17,613 jobs for youth through the United Kingdom and Germany legs of the ‘Tamil Nadu Rising’ investment conclave.

The U.K.-based Hinduja Group will invest ₹7,500 crore in Tamil Nadu’s electric vehicle (EV) ecosystem, for battery storage systems, creating more than 1,000 jobs, he said in a post on X.

A statement from the government said Hinduja Group has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Tamil Nadu government to invest in businesses involving cell and battery manufacturing for electric vehicles, BESS (Battery Energy Storage System), and EV charging stations, thus expanding the electric vehicle ecosystem and generating over 1,000 jobs.

According to the release, the MoU with Hinduja Group is the most significant commitment that has emerged out of the U.K. leg of the Chief Minister’s visit.

Hinduja Group envisions investments through its various companies in Tamil Nadu’s EV ecosystem, advancing the State’s vision of becoming one of the global hotspots for sustainable mobility and battery technologies, the statement added.
