Actor Ray Buffer, featured cast member in Director and Producer Abeni Nazeer’s RUSH, walked the red carpet at the exclusive RUSH Halloween Costume Party & Screening on October 25 in Los Angeles. The star-studded evening was produced and publicized by Angelique Bates (Nickelodeon’s All That) and Melting Pot Management & Public Relations in partnership with PHX Agency Brand.
Buffer, a Florida native residing in Long Beach, California, brings decades of performance experience across screen, stage, and music to his role as campus security guard Fred in RUSH. Standing at an imposing 6'4", Buffer is a prolific character actor with over 200 screen credits, known for his commanding presence in film, television, commercial campaigns, and vertical drama series, often specializing in authority figures, villains, and complex character roles.
Buffer's recent screen credits highlight a slate of diverse feature film and short projects, including portraying Shadow Agent Darwin alongside filmmaker and actor Taegen Carter in Skycrash, Ranger in My Face, Frank Beatty in the award-winning sci-fi Western The Lord of All Future Space and Time, Noah in Bible All Stars Reunion Tour, and Gary Ferguson in Her Monster. His recent work extends across popular micro-series and streaming productions such as Step by Step into the Mafia's Embrace, The Ranch King's Forbidden Sweetheart, Rise of the Caged King, and voicing Grand-Bob in the award-winning animated short Homesick.
Beyond his screen work, Buffer is an accomplished bass-baritone vocalist with classical ensemble experience, an independent film festival juror (including FilmQuest), and a veteran producer who previously founded and served as artistic director for the theater company The Relevant Stage.
Held in Los Angeles, the RUSH event featured host Lola Monroe alongside co-hosts Blac Chyna and Desi of Love Cabin. Attendees experienced food, drinks, arcade activations, interactive entertainment, music by DJ JxHoney, a live set where filming took place, and an exclusive screening tied to RUSH.
Buffer joined fellow RUSH cast member Marchinee “Marsh” Lewis (Baddies franchise) on the red carpet, alongside a distinguished guest list including producer Makaylo Van Peebles; Kevontay Jackson (Everybody Hates Chris); Sheldon Bailey (Game Shakers); and beauty influencer Tonya Renee Meisenbach.
Major media outlets and photographers covering the event included Getty Images, Hollywood Unlocked, World Visionz, Shot By Lala, and DaBackHouse.
For publicist and event producer Angelique Bates—known across the industry as the “Queen of the Red Carpet”—the successful screening adds RUSH to a running streak of sold-out projects and celebrity activations managed alongside business partner Shannon Dai under Melting Pot Management & Public Relations.
