Patna, Bihar | December 2025 Organized under the Centre for Readership Development (CRD), Health Dialogue ran from 5 to 16 December 2025 and covered a wide range of health topics impacting people across all age groups.
The sessions were moderated by Dr Vikas Shankar, who ensured balanced discussions, clear communication, and active public participation throughout the program.
Unlike traditional medical seminars, Health Dialogue focused on removing fear and confusion around health. Doctors spoke in simple language, encouraged questions, and addressed real-life concerns shared by the audience. This approach helped build trust and made health education accessible to everyone.

Day-Wise Highlights of Health Dialogue
Heart and Brain Health
The opening day focused on heart disease and neurological health. Eminent specialists including Dr Sanjeev Kumar, Dr Vikas Singh, Dr Abhishek Choudhary, and Dr Abhishek Basuki Gupta highlighted the importance of early detection, stress management, balanced diet, and regular health checkups. The session encouraged people to recognize warning signs early rather than ignoring symptoms.
Diabetes and Lifestyle
The second day addressed the rising burden of diabetes. Experts Dr Anand Shankar, Dr Amit Kumar Das, Dr Rishabh Kumar, and Dr Ravi Prakash discussed lifestyle factors such as diet, physical activity, sleep, and stress. The session emphasized that small daily habits can prevent long-term complications.
Bone, Joint, Nutrition, and Physiotherapy
Orthopedic specialists, physiotherapists, and nutritionists discussed joint pain, posture issues, calcium and vitamin deficiencies, and the role of physiotherapy. Doctors stressed that pain is not a normal part of aging and early intervention can greatly improve quality of life.
Women and Child Health
This session focused on maternal health, pregnancy care, child nutrition, vaccination, and growth milestones. Senior gynecologists and pediatric experts highlighted the importance of regular checkups, early care, and parental awareness in building healthy families.
Gut and Kidney Health
Experts from nephrology, gastroenterology, urology, and liver sciences discussed digestive health, kidney disease, liver disorders, and the importance of timely screening. The session reinforced that lifestyle changes and early medical care can prevent serious complications.
Eye, ENT, and Dental Health
Specialists educated the audience on eye strain, hearing issues, sinus problems, dental hygiene, and oral health. Doctors explained how routine checkups can prevent vision loss, hearing damage, and dental diseases.
Skin Health and Ethical Dermatology
Certified dermatologists addressed skin, hair, nail, aesthetic dermatology, laser procedures, hair transplant safety, and sexual health. A strong message was delivered against quackery and misleading social media claims, stressing the need to seek treatment only from qualified and registered specialists.
Geriatric and Mental Health
The eighth day focused on elderly care and mental health across all age groups. Experts discussed nutrition, dental health, loneliness, depression, and the importance of mental well-being. The session encouraged open dialogue and early support.
Closing Session: Vision for a Healthier Bihar
The concluding session featured Bihar Health Minister Shri Mangal Pandey Ji, who spoke about the Ayushman Bharat Yojana, its benefits, and the state government’s vision for accessible healthcare. He also shared personal health practices, reinforcing the importance of balanced living and preventive care.
Impact and Message
Health Dialogue at Patna Book Fair 2025 successfully transformed a book fair platform into a space for health literacy and public engagement. It demonstrated that when doctors and citizens communicate openly, awareness grows, myths break, and healthier choices follow.
As moderator, Dr Vikas Shankar played a key role in guiding discussions, simplifying complex topics, and ensuring that public concerns remained central to every session.
