OctoNerv LLC has completed a functional electronic prototype of the Electronic Breast Nipple Implant (EBNI), an early-stage medical device concept currently in research and development.

OctoNerv LLC announced the completion of a functional electronic prototype for a research-stage implantable medical device concept currently under development in the field of breast reconstruction. The prototype represents an early technical milestone intended to evaluate feasibility and system integration rather than a finished or market-ready product.

The technology under development is being explored as a potential approach to addressing long-standing challenges associated with maintaining anatomical projection following post-mastectomy breast reconstruction. While reconstructive techniques have advanced significantly over time, certain aspects of form and projection are typically static and may diminish over long-term use. OctoNerv’s research initiative seeks to examine whether controlled electronic actuation could, in the future, complement existing reconstructive approaches.

The prototype integrates a soft silicone-based structure with internal micro-actuation, pressure sensing, wireless power transfer, and Bluetooth Low Energy communication. These elements were combined to assess basic mechanical response, electronic functionality, and system coordination in a laboratory environment. Development efforts focused on evaluating whether the individual components could operate together reliably within a compact, implant-oriented architecture.

The prototype was created solely for research and feasibility evaluation purposes. It does not represent a finalized design and is not intended for commercial use. The device has not undergone clinical validation, has not been tested in animals or humans, and has not been submitted for regulatory review. No claims are being made regarding safety, efficacy, or clinical performance.

OctoNerv LLC is not currently pursuing commercialization. The company’s activities are limited strictly to research and development, feasibility assessment, and informed planning. The prototype exists to support technical learning, responsible discussion, and early evaluation of whether the underlying concept may warrant further investigation under appropriate oversight.

The company engages selectively with clinical experts, innovation programs, and research organizations to gather informed feedback. These engagements are exploratory in nature and are intended to help clarify clinical relevance, identify technical challenges, and inform long-term development considerations. OctoNerv does not seek endorsements and does not represent the technology as clinically validated.

Founded and based in Allentown, Pennsylvania, OctoNerv LLC is a privately held medical technology company focused on early-stage innovation in reconstructive and restorative healthcare. The company emphasizes technical rigor, transparency, and disciplined communication in all public and professional interactions.

OctoNerv’s approach prioritizes careful research over rapid commercialization. By maintaining a research-first posture, the company seeks to preserve flexibility while building a clearer understanding of feasibility, design constraints, and potential development pathways. Regulatory awareness, ethical responsibility, and patient safety considerations are central to any future planning.

Future activities will be guided by technical findings, expert input, and alignment with responsible innovation principles. Any progression beyond the current research phase would depend on additional evaluation, appropriate resources, and structured oversight. OctoNerv remains committed to thoughtful exploration and collaboration as it continues to assess the potential relevance of its early-stage technology concept.
