CHESAPEAKE, Va. October 12, 2026 - Pet-O-Ween is set for this coming Saturday, October 17, at Summit Pointe in Chesapeake, VA. This free and pet-friendly Halloween event takes place from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at 580 Belaire Ave. Local charities are bringing adoptable pets, so families can meet animals that are looking for homes. Pet vendors will be there too. To join the costume contest, owners post a photo of their pet on social media with the hashtag #petoweensummitpointe.
The adoption side is the heart of the day. The charities will have their pets on hand for the full four hours. Anyone thinking about adding a pet to the family can spend time with the animals and ask the charity teams questions. The event goes by an adopt, don’t shop message, and the flyer describes the pets as hoping to find their forever homes. The idea is simple. Put shelter pets in front of people who might take one home.
Vendors selling pet and animal items are part of the day as well, so owners can shop in between visits with the animals. The costume contest runs online.Get your pet dressed, click pictures, and post them, using #petoweensummitpointe as the hashtag.
The entry is free, and people can visit anytime they like. Pet owners can even bring along their pets! Pet-O-Ween is one of the community events Summit Pointe holds through the year. Vista at Summit Pointe, one of the apartment communities in the district, is also promoting the event and calls it a fun-filled fall day. Full details are on the event page at summitpointeva.com/events/pet-o-ween-at-summit-pointe/. Updates also go out on Summit Pointe’s Facebook, Instagram, and X pages, and the website has a newsletter sign-up for upcoming events and promotions.
Questions before the event can go to the Summit Pointe office, which is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
