Tempest today announced that it is joining Frys-IX, expanding its European peering footprint and strengthening route diversity for customers using Tempest dedicated servers, virtual dedicated servers, and colocation services.

Frys-IX is an internet exchange with a strong Dutch peering community. PeeringDB lists the exchange with more than 300 peers, more than 320 connections, 15.7T of total capacity, and 98% IPv6 adoption. The move gives Tempest another strategic European peering point and supports more direct traffic exchange opportunities across the Netherlands and the wider European network ecosystem.

For infrastructure operators, peering is one of the less visible but important parts of reliable hosting. More exchange presence can help improve routing optionality, reduce reliance on indirect paths, and create additional ways for networks to exchange traffic closer to where users and workloads operate.
