Tenafly Veterinary Center Introduces HT Vista™ AI Skin Cancer Screening for Early Detection in Dogs

Tenafly Veterinary Center is proud to announce the introduction of HT Vista™, an advanced artificial intelligence–powered skin cancer screening device for dogs.

Tenafly Veterinary Center continues to lead the way in progressive veterinary medicine with the addition of HT Vista™, the first AI-driven skin cancer screening device designed specifically for dogs. With cancer affecting nearly half of dogs over the age of 10—and one-third of those cases involving the skin—early detection is critical. HT Vista™ allows veterinarians to assess skin masses quickly, safely, and painlessly, providing pet owners with peace of mind and timely guidance.

Cancer remains one of the most common health concerns in senior dogs, and skin tumors are among the most frequently detected forms. Early identification can significantly improve treatment options, outcomes, and quality of life. Recognizing this need, Tenafly Veterinary Center has invested in HT Vista™, an innovative screening solution that supports earlier and more informed decision-making.

HT Vista™ is a non-invasive, needle-free scan that takes just 40 seconds to perform, with results available in approximately two minutes. The device is safe, well tolerated by patients, and requires no sedation. Using advanced Heat Diffusion Imaging (HDI) technology, HT Vista™ gently warms a skin mass by six degrees and then monitors how the tissue cools. Different tissue types react uniquely to heat based on their structure, metabolism, and blood supply—allowing the system to distinguish between healthy and potentially unhealthy tissue.

The collected thermal data is securely transmitted to an artificial intelligence platform trained to analyze these patterns. Within minutes, the system returns an easy-to-understand score ranging from 1 to 10, along with a percentage likelihood that the mass is benign. For example, a score of 10 indicates a 99% probability that the mass is benign, while lower scores may suggest the need for further diagnostic testing.

This technology enables veterinarians to prioritize which masses require additional investigation, such as laboratory analysis or biopsy, while avoiding unnecessary invasive procedures when appropriate. HT Vista™ offers excellent value for pet owners by reducing uncertainty, stress, and delays in diagnosis.

Pet owners who discover a new lump or bump on their dog are encouraged to schedule an appointment with Tenafly Veterinary Center. The veterinary team will discuss available options, perform the quick scan, review results together, and create a personalized care plan tailored to each pet’s needs.
