What the tailor brings

According to the guide, a visit includes the cloth books, the same ranges as on the shelves in the shop; a tape, chalk and pins, so the measuring, around twenty measurements plus notes on posture, is the same as in the shop; the customer's existing pattern, if they have one with the shop, for repeat orders; sample garments where they help to decide a cut; and a written quote, so the price is agreed before anything is cut. Later fittings bring the garment itself, carried in a bag. The shop cannot bring its mirror wall and full stock room, so it suggests a first appointment at the shop for anyone who wants to handle a lot of cloth, with later appointments at the hotel.

Planning around a flight

Most pieces are ready in 24 to 48 hours over two to three fittings, and the limit is the working time between appointments, not the sewing. The guide asks customers to give their arrival date and flight date in the first message, so the appointments can be put in the right order for the trip. If a flight moves, the shop says it can usually bring the finishing forward, or complete the garment after the customer leaves and send it on. Consultations are free.
