ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: WHO IS AUSTIN TOKER?
COLORADO SPRINGS, CO — September 18, 2026 — Austin Toker turns an independent career into a platform. The Aurora-raised hip-hop artist, live performer, and founder of the Toker Collective has spent over a decade building raw Colorado hip-hop in public: honest records, magnetic shows, independent merch, and a community-first vision that keeps widening.
Austin began releasing music in 2014 under the name Nitsua. By the end of 2019, he reintroduced himself as Austin Toker — more than a new stage name, it was permission to widen the frame while keeping the direct, unapologetic energy at the center. The music carries the hard edge of the artists who shaped him — Tupac, Tech N9ne, Immortal Technique, Snow Tha Product — but the larger story is evolution: rap as a place to document the full journey, from ambition and loss to pressure and recovery.
His current release, the nine-track TRIP EP (November 2024), was conceived as a connected journey — one song leading into the next rather than a loose collection of singles. Collaborators include Sir Jifs, King Nexuz, and Seuss Mace; the bonus track "T.V." arrived with a visual that introduced the project's world, and "Vent" later received a live Boom Box performance.
The stage is where the music becomes communal. Austin has headlined Denver's Roxy Theatre and The Black Buzzard, performed at Herman's Hideaway, Your Mom's House, The Black Sheep, and The Bakery, and taken the show across Colorado and into New Mexico, Texas, Iowa, South Dakota, North Dakota, and Arizona — including the Nile Theater in Mesa and a May 2026 support slot opening for Struggle Jennings in Casper.
In April 2026, he launched the first Toker Fest at Denver's Roxy Theatre — an independent showcase built around performance, merch, and artist opportunity. His Toker Collective follows the same logic, helping independent artists create accessible merch through starter packages, design support, and live opportunities.
Colorado Springs knows him too: Austin Toker headlined The Sarge LLC's Bust Out the Box #9 beach party, the monthly multi-genre music residency at the Wagon Wheel Sports Bar & Concert Hall.
Now he's in album mode. The next EP, VOID, is in production — two featured verses and one final verse to go, with a music video planned for October and a tentative release window in November or December.
"The music is the center, but the mission is bigger: make the journey visible, create opportunities and bring people with you." — Austin Toker
