PDF Champ has launched a tool built around a task many people currently solve with clumsier workarounds: pulling a handful of pages out of a longer PDF without splitting the whole file apart. The new tool displays every page as a thumbnail, letting users check off exactly which ones they want and save those pages into a fresh document.
The tool sits alongside PDF Champ's existing Split PDF utility but serves a narrower, more common need. Where splitting a document typically produces several output files, this tool is built for the simpler case of lifting out a specific set of pages, whether that's a signature page, a single chapter, or a set of scanned receipts buried inside a larger file, and keeping them together as one new PDF.
The tool offers:
• Thumbnail previews of every page before any selection is made
• Select-all and deselect-all shortcuts for quicker page picking
• Any combination of pages, in any order of selection, saved into a single output file
• Entirely local processing, so uploaded files never reach an outside server
• An untouched original document, with the selection saved as a separate new file
"There's a real difference between splitting a file into pieces and just wanting the three pages you actually need," said a spokesperson for PDF Champ. "This was built for the second case, where seeing the pages first, rather than typing in page numbers, makes the whole thing faster."
Because selection is visual rather than based on typed page ranges, the tool is particularly suited to situations where a user isn't certain which page numbers they need until they can see the document laid out. For higher-volume work, such as extracting the same page pattern across many files at once, PDF Champ's desktop application for Windows and Mac adds batch extraction on top of the same underlying functionality.
The Extract PDF Pages tool joins more than 20 other free tools in PDF Champ's browser-based lineup, covering document organization, security, and format conversion.
