ZHANGJIAGANG, China, October 26, 2026 – Suzhou Tongda Machinery Co., Ltd. hosted the 2026 Plastic Blow Moulding Industry Chain Market & Technology Exchange Conference (https://www.tongdamachine.net/2026-blow-moulding-industry-chain-market-technology-exchange-conference/) (2026塑料中空制品产业链市场与技术交流会) in June 2026. From June 17 to 19, 450 industry experts and peers gathered in Zhangjiagang for the event. It was organised by the Hollow Products Professional Committee of the China Plastics Processing Industry Association (中国塑协中空制品专委会).

The conference ran under the theme "Harbour City, United Strength · Craftsmanship Starts a New Journey" (港城聚合力·匠心启新程). Its aim was to bring the strength of the industry chain together and open a new chapter for the sector. 2026 is the first year of China's 15th Five-Year Plan period, and the meeting's central question was how the hollow blow moulding industry can move from expansion in scale to high-quality development.

"Pooling our strength is not a slogan, but a process in which the upstream and downstream of the industry chain move closer to each other and help each other succeed," Tongda wrote in its recap of the event.

Opening day: policy, data and technology

The conference opened formally on June 18. Opening addresses came from Wang Zhanjie, President of the China Plastics Processing Industry Association; Wan Ziping, Vice Mayor of the Zhangjiagang Municipal People's Government; and Su Dongping, President of the China Plastics Machinery Industry Association. Between them they set out the industry's direction from three angles: national strategy, regional industrial strengths and the mission of equipment manufacturing.

Xu Wenliang, Chairman and General Manager of Suzhou Tongda Machinery Co., Ltd., gave the welcome address on behalf of the host. He said that hosting the conference was both a responsibility and an opportunity for Tongda. At a turning point for the industry, he said, external pressure can only become a real driver of internal upgrading if technological innovation serves as the anchor and industry-chain collaboration as the network.

Miao Dan, Secretary-General of the association's Hollow Products Professional Committee, released the 2025 Hollow Products Industry Business Survey Report. Drawing on real operating data from more than 100 companies, it gave delegates an authoritative "health check" of the industry. Jia Hui, R&D Manager at Tongda, then brought the discussion down to the shop floor with a presentation on Tongda's work and breakthroughs in core hollow blow moulding technologies.

In the afternoon, two parallel summit forums ran on "Product Application & Standards Compliance" and "Industry Innovation & Digital Smart Manufacturing". Representatives of companies including Daina Packaging (岱纳包装), Kautex Machinery, Siemens and Yijia 3D spoke on PCR material applications, blow moulding in specialty industries, digital deployment and metal 3D printing. Two roundtables tackled practical questions such as how to write tender specifications for blow moulding machines and where the pitfalls lie in an intelligent transformation.

Visit day: lectures and the factory floor

June 19 was Tongda Machinery Visit Day. Chen Haibing, a manager at Moog China, Professor He Yadong of Beijing University of Chemical Technology and Professor Huang Hanxiong of South China University of Technology gave academic talks on servo control, plasticising principles and new blow moulding processes. Delegates then toured Tongda's Chuangxing Road plant and watched its intelligent manufacturing lines in operation. Tongda says that was the purpose of hosting the conference: "to let technology be seen, let experience be shared, and let cooperation happen."

Many delegates sent feedback during the conference, Tongda reported.
