CHEYENNE, Wyo. — August 9, 2026 — Jacob Logic Technology LLC has launched Tracetify, a competitor research tool that answers a question the established SEO suites do not: how did a product get its first users?
Existing analytics platforms report where a competitor stands today: current traffic, present keyword rankings, this month's backlink count. Tracetify works backwards instead. A user pastes a competitor's URL, and the tool pulls from twelve public data sources, including archive snapshots, backlink history, Hacker News and Reddit threads, Product Hunt listings, ad libraries and AI-assistant citations, to rebuild that product's launch period as a dated timeline.
The distinction matters to anyone starting from zero. A product now doing hundreds of thousands of visits a month got there partly on compounding brand recognition, which nobody can replicate on demand. What the same product did at 500 visits usually can be copied.
"Before every launch I did the same ritual: dig through a competitor's backlinks, old snapshots and forum threads, trying to piece together how they actually got started," said Jacob, the company's founder, who also operates DatePhotos AI, UGCfy AI and FragCut. "It took hours each time, and the SEO tools never answered it. They show you the finish line."
Findings in a Tracetify report link to dated public sources the reader can open and check. Each report closes with three concrete moves, and every move names the timeline event it came from plus a rough cost estimate. Those moves are drawn from the launch period rather than from current traffic. When a data source fails or returns nothing, the report says so rather than presenting an empty result as a finding.
Reports are public and readable by anyone at tracetify.com/r. The company says that is deliberate: a research finding is easier to trust when the reader can inspect the sources behind it.
Interest in the category has been climbing. DataForSEO Trends data shows search interest in "competitor analysis" rising from an index of 53 to 90 over the past twelve months, and Fungies.io's 2026 indie developer market analysis reports that solo founders now account for 36% of new startups, up from 17% in 2017. CB Insights attributes 43% of startup failures to poor product-market fit, which in practice often means a go-to-market channel that was never going to work.
Tracetify is free to try: visitors can run two traces without an account, and registration adds 20 credits. Each action costs 10 credits, so a complete analysis (trace, timeline unlock and verdict) runs 30 credits. One-time credit packs are $19.90 for 150 credits, $49 for 450, $99 for 1,050 and $199 for 2,400. An Unlimited plan is available at $99 per month with a fair-use ceiling of 30 fresh traces per day.
The product went live on August 3, 2026, and has published more than 30 public reports in its first week.
