For many transport offices, this is a familiar phone call. It comes from a consignor waiting for a delivery update, sometimes while the dispatcher is already handling several other vehicles. The dispatcher then calls the driver, checks the location and gets back to the customer. A few hours later, the same question comes around again.

SkyRocket TMS is addressing this routine through shareable customer tracking links. A transporter can send the link to a consignor, who can open it and check the vehicle's progress without logging into the software or setting up an account.

The tracking information updates every 30 seconds, according to the platform. The system also supports GPS integration with more than 30 Indian hardware providers, including Teltonika, Concox, Atrack and JimiIoT. Transport operators can therefore connect compatible existing GPS devices instead of necessarily replacing their installed hardware. The tracking link also showcases the Estimated Time of Arrival to the final destination along with other key details like Proof of Loading (with Photos and Videos).

“Most consignors aren't asking for a complicated report. They just want to know whether the truck has moved, where it is and roughly how the journey is progressing and how much time it is going to take for final arrival of the shipment,” a SkyRocket TMS representative said. “Our aim is to make that information easier to share. The transport office can get on with its work, and the customer doesn't have to keep calling for every update.”

The feature is particularly relevant for businesses handling regular freight movements between cities, warehouses and customer locations. Dispatch teams can share a tracking link with the relevant customer, while consignors can check the journey when they need an update.
