Zeerust, South Africa – September 28, 2025 – For the past three years, our family in Zeerust, North West Province, has struggled without access to a reliable water supply. Our only borehole, once essential for daily household use and small-scale farming, has completely run dry.

Without water, we have faced enormous difficulties. Growing crops, feeding livestock, and meeting basic living needs have become a constant challenge. As the land continues to deteriorate, our situation grows more urgent each day.

In response to this crisis, we have launched a crowdfunding campaign on BackaBuddy titled Water is Life – Help Us Grow Again. The campaign seeks support to drill a new borehole and begin planting lucerne (alfalfa). With access to water restored, we will be able to revive our land, grow food, sustain animals, and rebuild a path toward self-reliance and long-term sustainability.
