Lexington, MA — WeStar Music proudly presents Jade Melody & Bronze Chime, an extraordinary concert celebrating ancient Chinese court music, in collaboration with the Golden Chime Chinese Court Music Ensemble. This rare cultural event will take place on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at 6:30 PM at the historic Cary Hall in Lexington, Massachusetts, with a reception and social hour beginning at 5:00 PM.
Invented more than 2,000 years ago, Chinese bronze chimes (编钟) represent one of the most sophisticated musical achievements of ancient civilization. Revered for their “soothing yet grand” sound, these ceremonial instruments once resounded in royal courts and state rituals. Now, audiences in Greater Boston will have the unique opportunity to experience this magnificent tradition live.
The concert will feature a full replica set of chimes from the ancient Yue Dynasty, presented in an immersive performance that weaves together music, dance, and visual artistry. This event marks the first time in U.S. concert history that a complete set of Chinese court chimes will be performed on stage, offering a rare glimpse into a musical heritage that has endured for millennia.
Part of the concert proceeds will be donated to the WeStar Music Education Foundation, supporting cultural preservation and music education.
