RALEIGH, North Carolina, November 2026, Jennifer Hadley Photography has announced its 2027 Pumas of Patagonia wildlife photography expedition, taking place March 10-17, 2027, in southern Chile. The eight-day small-group journey focuses on tracking and photographing wild pumas on foot in Torres del Paine and the surrounding private estancia landscape.
The departure is priced from USD $10,800 and is limited to two to five travelers. The program combines local wildlife expertise, dedicated tracker support, photography guidance and access to both public areas and private estancia land. Five places are currently listed as available for the March 2027 departure.
Pumas are the central focus of the expedition. Local guides and a dedicated tracker use vehicles to locate puma activity before photographers continue on foot. Depending on the animals’ movements, participants may photograph from a position or move with the pumas as they travel through the landscape.
Special permits provide access to private estancia land, while a dedicated tracker operates from a separate scout vehicle to help locate pumas and monitor their movements. The small group allows photographers to remain mobile in the field while receiving individual photography guidance as conditions and wildlife activity change.
The on-foot approach is a defining part of Pumas of Patagonia. Photography is built around observing the animals’ natural behavior and working within the open Patagonian landscape rather than controlling or altering their movements. The expedition follows an ethical wildlife photography approach supported by experienced local guides and trackers.
While pumas remain the primary photographic subject, the region also provides opportunities to photograph other Patagonian wildlife, including guanacos and condors. The open steppe and mountain landscapes surrounding Torres del Paine also allow photographers to work with wider environmental compositions alongside closer wildlife images.
The journey begins in Port Natales with a welcome dinner before continuing into the Torres del Paine area. The published package includes accommodations, including the first night, all meals and the welcome dinner, wine, beer and soda with dinner, professional local guides, park passes, access to private estancia land, and transfers to and from the park.
The expedition is also open to wildlife enthusiasts traveling with photographers. Non-photographers can participate in the field experience and observe the wildlife and landscape alongside photographing companions.
A previous Pumas of Patagonia traveler said, “I came away from this trip with new skills and a deeper appreciation for wildlife and landscape photography.”
The March 10-17, 2027 departure gives wildlife photographers an opportunity to work with wild pumas in one of Patagonia’s distinctive predator landscapes while combining on-foot tracking, small-group fieldwork and photography guidance. Current availability is limited to a maximum group of five travelers.
