SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Sun Solar of Springfield is reducing its inventory through a large-scale online auction now open for bidding, offering more than 1,340 lots of work trucks, heavy equipment, skid steer attachments and solar installation materials to contractors, installers, equipment dealers and the general public.
The two-day event, hosted online at AuctionMO.com, features Day 1 bidding closing Thursday, September 24, and Day 2 bidding closing Friday, September 25, at 6:00 p.m. CT. Both auctions use a staggered soft-close format with a 60-second auto-extend on late bids, giving every bidder a fair shot at the lots they want.
"This auction is massive," said a spokesperson for Advantage Auction, which is handling the sale. "We're talking Cummins Turbo Diesel work trucks, heavy equipment like a telehandler and a Bobcat Toolcat, and hundreds of brand-new solar panels, all going up for bid online with no sales tax."
What's Up for Bid
Day 1 of the auction highlights Dodge Ram 2500 and 3500 Cummins Turbo Diesel trucks, HEMI Rams, skid steer attachments, bulk electrical cable, hundreds of new solar panels — including Tesla panels — along with tools and power equipment.
Day 2 shifts the focus to heavy equipment: a Genie telehandler, a Skyjack boom lift, a Bobcat 5600 Turbo 4x4 Toolcat, mini skid steers, a compact excavator, trenchers, trailers, and additional new solar panels, tools and power equipment.
Across both days, the sale also includes a Kia sedan, an AM General six-wheel heavy-duty crane truck, solar racking and conduit, and a wide range of installation materials — giving bidders a rare chance to acquire an extensive supply of solar contracting assets in one event.
Bidding Details
All lots are sold with a 10 percent buyer's premium, and a 3 percent fee applies to credit card transactions. There is no sales tax on purchases. Winning bidders can pay by cash, credit or debit card, or local check, and a refundable $5 card hold is required at registration. A $10 per item, per day storage fee applies if pickup is not arranged promptly. Bidders must be 18 or older to participate.
Pickup will take place by scheduled appointment in Springfield after each day's auction closes, with pickup address details released through the appointment scheduling process.
Who Should Bid
Advantage Auction says the sale is built for contractors, solar installers, electricians, equipment dealers, farmers and small fleet buyers looking to stock up on trucks, heavy equipment and solar materials at auction prices — but the sale is open to anyone interested in bidding.
