AFW has upgraded its Fleck 2510 water softeners with Pentair’s new 2510AiQ control valve, offering improved controls, easier setup and system diagnostics. AFW also offers combo packages to address multiple household water treatment needs.

PFEIFER, Kan., Oct. 1, 2026: Abundant Flow Water (AFW), an online supplier of residential water treatment systems, has upgraded its Fleck 2510-series water softeners to Pentair's new Fleck 2510AiQ control valve, which replaces the Fleck 2510SXT in AFW's lineup. The upgraded softeners sit alongside AFW's combo packages, which pair a softener with a second treatment system so households can deal with hardness and another water problem in a single order.

The Fleck 2510 is the valve AFW uses for its larger water softener systems. It offers a stronger backwash and higher flow rate than the more common Fleck 5600, which suits larger resin beds and homes with several fixtures running at once. The AiQ version keeps that proven hydraulic platform and replaces the controller on top.

According to Pentair, the 2510AiQ adds:

i) A full-color display with a quick-start menu that steps through hardness, resin volume, salt dose and capacity at first power-up
Benchtop programming, so the controller can be set up before the softener is plumbed in
ii) A USB-C port for programming, retrieving usage history, diagnostics and software updates
iii) A field-updateable controller that takes new software without replacing hardware
iv) A modular powerhead that Pentair says installs or comes apart in four steps
v) A wrap-around light bar that shows system status at a glance

Like the 2510SXT it replaces, the AiQ supports metered, demand-initiated regeneration. The softener tracks the water a household actually uses and regenerates only when the resin needs it, instead of on a fixed calendar, which saves salt and water.

"The 2510 has been the workhorse under our bigger softeners for years," the AFW team said. "The AiQ keeps everything that made it dependable and improves the part customers actually touch. Setup is faster, the screen is easy to read, and the usage history makes it much easier for our support team to help when someone calls with a question."

AFW's 2510AiQ softeners are available in five configurations:

1) 1.5 cubic foot (48,000-grain max) softener with 10% crosslink resin, which holds up better on chlorinated city water
2) Iron Pro 48k fine mesh softener, for well water that carries iron as well as hardness
3) 80,000-grain softener, rated to treat up to 20 gallons per minute
4) Upgraded 80,000-grain softener with 10% crosslink resin, also rated up to 20 gallons per minute
5) Iron Pro 80k fine mesh softener, for larger homes with iron in their well water
Each system ships with a Pentair tank and is built for do-it-yourself installation.

AFW's combo packages pair a whole-house softener with a matched second stage. Current packages include softeners with upflow or backwashing carbon filters to remove chlorine taste and odor, catalytic carbon filters, pH neutralizers for acidic water, a two-stage Big Blue cartridge filter, a 9 GPM Filox iron filter and an Air Injection Gold iron and sulfur system. Running carbon ahead of the softener also protects the resin bed from chlorine, which extends its working life.

"Most of our customers don't have just one water problem," the AFW team added. "A combo package lets them handle hardness and chlorine, iron or low pH together, with both stages sized to the same flow rate from the start."

The Fleck 2510AiQ softeners and AFW's combo packages are available now at store.afwfilters.com, with free shipping on whole-house softeners. AFW's support team offers free sizing help and installation support at 785-661-2241 or [email protected], Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Central Time.
