The Van Air D-Series skips all of that. The desiccant slowly dissolves as it absorbs moisture, and once the charge is spent, you swap in a fresh one.

That matters for energy efficiency. Heatless desiccant air dryer designs that use tower switching divert a portion of the compressed air they're drying back through the offline vessel to purge and regenerate the desiccant. The D-Series doesn't do any of that. Air goes in, dry air comes out, and none of it loops back through as purge flow.

Achieving a stable pressure dew point is the core job of any compressed air dryer, and the D-Series handles it reliably across its capacity range. For most applications, a dew point suppression of 20°F below inlet conditions is sufficient to prevent condensation in the distribution system.
