Honored to receive the Troland Research Award for research exploring neural plasticity and its impact on learning, literacy, and cognitive development.

Neural plasticity—the brain’s ability to adapt and reorganize—is central to learning. My research has aimed to understand how this adaptability supports the acquisition of reading skills.

Through detailed analysis of brain development, we have observed how neural connections strengthen and reorganize in response to learning experiences. These findings provide valuable insights into how education can be optimized.

Understanding plasticity also offers hope for individuals facing learning challenges. It demonstrates that the brain is capable of change and improvement, given the right conditions and support.

This recognition underscores the importance of continuing to explore the dynamic nature of the brain and its implications for education.
