Amb. Dr. Deepa Chhagan Lalloo Emphasises Ethical Responsibility in Executive Leadership.

Responsible business leadership Responsible business leadership is decision making that affects staff, business activities and the organisation. Responsible leaders need to take into account issues of accountability and professional behaviour along with other business agendas. Amb. Dr. Deepa Chhagan Lalloo (Sunaina) has developed a sound appreciation of these leadership issues.

In her role as Founder and Managing Director of Altius Global Advisory, she combines her expertise in human capability, organisational psychology, business performance and executive leadership. Her career spans the significance of attaching responsibilities to organisation decision making, governing the decisions and comprehending their impact on people and operations.

Deepa previously held position as the Executive Director of Human Resources and Human Capital at Ava Care Health Group Global, where she spearheaded the development and consolidation of human capital operations across 18 subsidiaries in 12 African countries, as well as the UAE, India and Kazakhstan. She was also responsible for governance, organisational design, shared services and workforce transformation.

In complex organisations good governance may be used to place accountability of decisions, to build operational consistency and to support openness. Good ethical leadership draws on good professional judgement, on good communication and on an openness to compare decisions with standards and over time.

Throughout her time with BDO, Deepa's key areas of focus included talent management, leadership development, organisation development and performance management. Subsequently, Deepa was an assessor on the Oxford Executive Leadership Programme at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, providing development feedback to senior executives.

She graduated with an MSc in Organisational Psychology from the University of London, and has completed training on topics such as business sustainability management and managerial finance.

In 2026, she was awarded by Kennedy University a Peace Ambassadorship and an honorary doctorate with specialisations in Organisational Psychology, Strategic Management and Leadership.
