Amb. Dr. Deepa Chhagan Lalloo Shares Lessons from Business Expansion and Diversification.

Growing the business is a whole new challenge, no business becomes successful only by knowing the market opportunity; but knowing the product you are offering, serving the customer, managing resources, building the team and setting up operational processes that can lead to that business being scaled. Amb. Dr. Deepa Chhagan Lalloo aka Sunaina has witnessed these from the perspective of a business owner, working within advisory, consulting, training, hospitality and retail.

Business Model and Outlooks Deepa started bakeology studio in 2019, which was operationalised in 2020 and was focused on skills-based training and affordable vocational education (hospitality and F& B). It later scaled to multiple concepts and up to four retail outlets.

This enterprise was founded and built by a plan, defining the right business model, customer experiences, financial management, continuous operational improvement and resource deployment. This venture brought alive her insights of business transformation as well as the importance of day-to-day execution.

Her business experience adds a broader dimension to her corporate leadership. She is also the Founder and Managing Director of Altius Global Advisory, a company focused on organisational psychology and human capability and business performance. Her emphasis is on increasing capabilities and organisational foundation for market change.

Deepa is also always keen to explore more hands-on learning and economic opportunities, skills acquisition prepares the participant for employment, builds confidence in entrepreneurship and empowers them to put their skills to use in a real business environment.

She is a graduate of the University of London with an MSc in Organisational Psychology and the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg with a BA. Kennedy University awarded her a Peace Ambassadorship and an honorary Doctorate of Organisational Psychology, Strategic Management and Leadership in 2026.

She regularly publishes her professional work that links entrepreneurship to leadership and organisation development through her GlobalX Publications.
