Lassy LL Chiwayo's Diverse professional experience has taken him through the political, administrative, municipal and diplomatic worlds. Transition to authorship opens up an avenue for him to publish his experience and take his professional story to a broader public. His professional life commenced in the political arena of South Africa during the period of its apartheid policy.

He became part of the liberation movement in South Africa, was imprisoned during the 1980s and spent from 1987 to 1990 in Robben Island.

During the democratic dispensation in 1994, Lassy LL Chiwayo was elected as a Member of Parliament as a representative of Mpumalanga Province. He remained as a Member of Parliament for the Province until 1996. He served as MEC for Sports, Culture and Recreation and then served as MEC for Finance from 1997 to 1999. He served as Chief Whip of the Mpumalanga Legislature from 1999 to 2001.

His career developed into a municipal leadership role as the Executive Mayor of the Mbombela Local Municipality, from 2008 to 2011.

It was in this role during the run up to the 2010 World Cup when the eyes of the world turned on the country to see how the country was getting ready for the event. His diplomatic activities as part of the Central East Asia and regional organisations from 2011 to 2012 further expanded his professional experience. As an author of a GlobalX Publication, his career has developed into the field of publishing.

Here he is able to document his professional experience in one publication and take his professional story to new audiences beyond the institutional framework. Through publishing he can also assist others in taking their stories to a broad audience.
