BELTON, MO - Belton Animal Clinic & Exotic Care Center welcomes Dr. Becky Zelada, DVM, to its veterinary team beginning July 6, 2026. With a passion for animal wellness and roots in the Midwestern community she now calls home, Dr. Zelada is a wonderful addition to a practice that has cared for the pets of Belton and the Kansas City area for decades.

Dr. Zelada earned her Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Science from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, followed by her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Iowa State University in 2017. She spent several years practicing in central California before returning to the Midwest, settling in the Kansas City metro area with her husband, Joshua, and their three dogs and one cat.

Her clinical interests include preventative care, internal medicine, emergency and critical care, and geriatric medicine. Dr. Zelada believes that every pet deserves personalized care and that compassionate, clear communication empowers pet owners to make the best possible decisions for their animals, a philosophy that aligns naturally with the values at the core of Belton Animal Clinic & Exotic Care Center.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Zelada enjoys exploring the Kansas City area, reading, and nurturing her ever-growing plant collection.
