Chennai Cyclothon 2026, organised by Chennai Cyclists in association with Times of India - Chennai Times, is set to take place on Sunday, 28th June 2026 at the Indian Maritime University, East Coast Road - one of the city's most iconic stretches. Themed around health and sustainability and celebrating World Bicycle Day, this is an event that speaks directly to the values we hold at Jain Housing. We don't just build spaces where people sleep - we build communities where people truly thrive, and this cyclothon is a celebration of exactly that spirit.
The event opens its doors to every kind of rider, with four categories to choose from - 10 km, 25 km, 50 km, and 100 km. Every participant will be fully supported on the day, with a Cyclothon T-shirt, a finisher medal, breakfast, refreshments, and on-route mechanical support. Because when a community comes together, nobody gets left behind - a sentiment that resonates deeply with who we are as a brand.
Chennai Cyclists, the force behind this event, is India's largest cycling community. Beginning over a decade ago with just five riders, it has grown into a movement of more than 25,000 members across 16 ride chapters in Chennai. Their commitment to uniting people through cycling reflects the same commitment we bring to every project we develop - creating spaces and experiences that bring people closer together.
What makes this partnership feel especially meaningful to us is the community that shows up for this event. Participants range from 16 to 75 years of age - health-conscious, driven, financially independent individuals who are decision-makers and opinion leaders in their own right. These are people who understand that quality of life is not a luxury; it is a standard. At Jain Housing, that is a perspective we share completely.
Last year, more than 1,000 cyclists rode the ECR stretch across all four categories, with the event drawing widespread coverage across print, radio, and digital media.
