Baar (September 17, 2026) – SGS, the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification company, highlights key changes to Ivory Coast’s PCA CI 71 conformity assessment program, which expands the scope of applicable products and became mandatory on July 1, 2026.
In a feature article, SGS reports that this mandatory conformity assessment now applies to 15 product families across existing, expanded and newly introduced product categories. The new requirements apply to products covered by Decrees No. 2016-1152 and No. 2020-389. Shipment dates on relevant transport documents, including a Bill of Lading, Air Waybill or road or rail transport document, determine whether the new requirements apply.
Announced by Ivory Coast’s Directorate General for Foreign Trade (DGCE), product categories included in the scope of PCA CI 71 have been expanded, with chemicals introduced as a new category and additional cosmetics, personal care and textile products brought within scope.
The article includes a list of the fifteen product families now covered, as well as a list of 16 exempt product categories. A certificate of conformity (CoC) is a key document required to support customs clearance procedures in Ivory Coast for products within scope, and information on SGS PCA services for importers and exporters is also available in the article.
