Banyan Tree Krabi has strengthened its sustainability credentials after winning first place in Barista Mixology and second place in the culinary category at Hotel Expo Krabi Go Green 2026.

Banyan Tree Krabi has strengthened its reputation for sustainability and eco-friendly hospitality after securing two awards at the Hotel Expo Krabi Go Green 2026 challenge, held in Krabi on 24 July 2026.

The resort took first place in Barista Mixology and second place in the culinary category, showcasing its commitment to sustainable practices and the use of locally sourced ingredients.

The winning “Soil to Soul” creation was developed by Dawadee Songprasert, known as Khun Dao, from Banyan Tree Krabi’s beachfront Kredkaew Bar. Inspired by Krabi’s natural resources and the resort’s sustainability commitments, the drink follows a zero-waste concept by reusing coffee grounds and mango peels to create a cordial.

The mocktail combines locally produced roselle, mangosteen and natural honey, infused with coconut oil, highlighting the flavours and resources of southern Thailand while giving food ingredients a second life.

Banyan Tree Krabi’s culinary team also secured second place in the Local Taste Competition with Chargrilled Prawns with Tom Yum Emulsion. The dish celebrates local ingredients and the authentic flavours of southern Thai cuisine.

The awards come as Krabi continues to promote sustainable tourism and environmental conservation. The province is renowned for its limestone karst cliffs, hidden lagoons, caves and white-sand beaches along the Andaman Sea.

Banyan Tree Krabi has been recognised through several sustainability accolades, including Green Hotel Award – Gold Certification from Thailand’s Department of Environmental Quality Promotion. In 2025, the resort also received a Thailand Tourism Sustainability Award in the Health & Wellness Tourism category.

Located along Krabi’s scenic coastline, Banyan Tree Krabi features 72 pool suites and villas, including seven two-bedroom options, a three-bedroom villa and a seven-bedroom beachfront Presidential Villa. The resort also offers two restaurants, a beach bar, kids’ club, fitness centre, meeting facilities and a tropical spa with a Rainforest hydrotherapy facility.

The resort was awarded Two MICHELIN stars by the MICHELIN Guide in 2024 and 2025 and was recognised by Fodor’s Travel 2026 as the only hotel in Thailand included in its 100 Most Incredible Hotels in the World.
