Kolkata, West Bengal, India, 5 September 2026: XL Enterprises Limited produces seven hand finished leather ranges at its Kolkata factory, covering hand painted, applique work, Shanti handcrafted, dip dye and raffia lines in both bags and wallets, under the same BSCI and SEDEX audited conditions as its machine finished production.
The ranges are hand painted bags, Shanti handcrafted bags, applique work handbags, dip dye bags and raffia bags in the handbag category, and hand painted wallets and Shanti wallets in ladies wallets. Each is finished by hand at the piece level.
"Anything finished by hand is a consistency problem before it is a craft story, because a buyer ordering four hundred pieces expects four hundred that match," said Shaoli Dutta, Managing Partner, XL Enterprises Limited. "Keeping hand work inside an audited factory rather than pushing it out to a network is how that gets controlled."
Running hand finished work inside the main facility means the same quality management system, the same compliance regime and the same inspection points apply to a hand painted bag as to a machine stitched wallet. The company operates a documented quality policy under ISO 9001:2015 and describes right first time as its working standard.
