Kenya Camp has officially opened registrations for its upcoming 14-Day Kenya Running Camp, scheduled from July 5 to July 18, 2026

The immersive training camp combines elite-level endurance coaching, meetings with world class runners, cultural experiences, recovery-focused accommodation, and structured workouts designed for runners of all levels. Organizers say the July program is aimed at athletes seeking both physical improvement and a deeper understanding of Kenya’s legendary running culture.

Located in Kenya’s Rift Valley, Iten has become synonymous with world-class distance running, attracting elite athletes and recreational runners alike. The region’s altitude, terrain, and training environment have helped shape generations of Olympic medalists and marathon champions.

Kenya Camp was created to give runners a genuine experience of training in Iten while learning directly from the Kenyan approach to running, said Coach Hugo van den Broek, founder and head coach of Kenya Camp. “This is more than a training camp. It’s an opportunity to challenge yourself physically, connect with like-minded runners, and experience the lifestyle that has inspired some of the world’s greatest athletes.
Coach Hugo, originally from the Netherlands, has lived and coached in Kenya for more than 18 years and brings extensive experience as a former elite marathon runner with a personal best of 2:12.08. His Master’s degrees in Human Movement Sciences and Education also help him understand the scientific background behind the best training methods.

According to the camp organizers, the program is carefully structured to balance performance, recovery, and cultural immersion. Athletes will participate in easy runs, long runs, track workouts, fartleks and hill sprints. All on the same roads and trails used by elite Kenyan runners. Afternoons are often used for massages, easy runs, cross training and coached strength sessions.

The camp also emphasizes accessibility. While high-altitude training has traditionally been associated with professional athletes, Kenya Camp says its programs are designed for runners of varying experience levels from recreational runners preparing for personal goals to experienced marathon competitors.

Accommodation and Athlete Support
Participants will stay in athlete-focused accommodations designed to support recovery and comfort during the training period. Kenya Camp says its facilities include clean and secure lodging, quality bedding, fresh and varied meals, and access to gym facilities for strength and mobility work. Elite masseurs are always available to provide a boost in recovery.

The organization also provides fully coordinated logistics, including transportation from Eldoret Airport to Iten, helping international participants focus entirely on training and recovery. Those who prefer to stay shorter or longer than the camp duration, are accommodated as well.
