Following rising energy prices and member pressure for sustainable initiatives, Torquay Golf Club approached M&E Contrax Renewables to develop a solar solution that would balance functionality with aesthetic appeal in their prestigious clubhouse location.

The expert solar installation team conducted a comprehensive energy usage review and technical survey before designing a bespoke solar PV system that maximises energy production while maintaining the visual appeal expected at a premium golf facility.

The team strategically split the panel strings to boost system efficiency during localised shading and installed a hybrid inverter with potential to add solar battery storage at a later date if required.

Since completion in January 2025, the system is already yielding an impressive 73% self-sufficiency rate, delivering substantial cost savings while supporting the club's sustainability commitments to both members and the local community.
