Anthony (Tony) Tooley, founder and longtime President of IIX, has retired effective October 1, 2026. His retirement follows his 75th birthday and caps more than four decades of pioneering work in the title plant software industry. IIX is a leading US provider of title plant software and services, title search technology and enterprise data solutions.

When Tony founded IIX, his goal was to change the way title plants are built, maintained and searched. Under his leadership, the company grew into a successful technology business with clients across multiple US states, earning a reputation for integrity, innovation, data accuracy and reliability.

Building the Foundation

Over the past four decades, Tony guided the development of IIX’s flagship Title Plant platform, along with a wide range of software and services covering document indexing, posting, title searching, data integration and title plant management. His work in data processing, search technology and quality assurance helped establish IIX title plants as trusted sources of accurate, complete records.

Tony also recognized the potential of artificial intelligence early on. He championed its use in the next generation of IIX solutions, laying the groundwork for the company’s future technology direction.

Looking Ahead with AI

The IIX Title Plant Suite currently delivers geo-indexed property records, advanced search, workflow automation, data validation and compliance integrations, available either as cloud-hosted SaaS or on-premise. The company also offers title plant development, data conversion, indexing and hosting, as well as specialized solutions for landmen working in the oil, gas and energy sectors.

As it enters its next phase, IIX is making AI and intelligent automation central to its innovation efforts. These technologies will be applied to document intelligence, indexing, search, data quality and workflow automation, while preserving the data integrity that clients have relied on for decades.

Beyond IIX

Tony was born and educated in the United Kingdom and Australia. He earned an Honors Bachelor of Applied Science in Metallurgy from the University of Adelaide and a Master of Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary. After about four decades in Texas, he is looking forward to retirement with his wife, Caryl.
