Quantum Orthopedics (Quantum Ortho) is providing sports medicine care in West Orange, NJ, led by board-certified orthopedic surgeon Dr. Michael Rieber. The practice supports athletes and active adults whose injuries interrupt daily routines and the activities they enjoy.
Dr. Rieber evaluates and manages ACL tears and other ligament injuries, meniscus tears, rotator cuff and shoulder injuries, cartilage defects, overuse and tendon injuries, and fractures. He completed advanced training in sports medicine and arthroscopy at Penn State Hershey Medical Center and brings more than 15 years of experience and more than 2,000 procedures performed.

When surgery is recommended, Dr. Rieber uses minimally invasive techniques where appropriate, including arthroscopic knee procedures, shoulder stabilization, and ligament reconstruction. Care may also include EXPAREL® pain management and MAKO® technology.
Recovery follows a structured path from evaluation and diagnosis through protection, strength and mobility work, sport-specific training, and return to activity. Return-to-sport decisions are guided by strength, mobility, and functional milestones rather than timelines alone.
