After the sale of LJ Simone, Jay Adoni moved into commercial real estate and developed supermarket and retail properties on Long Island, including a supermarket site in Glen Cove.

GLEN COVE, NY, October 22, 2026: Jay Adoni, born Jacob Adoni, is best known in fashion as the founder of LJ Simone and PLV Studio. Between those two companies he built a second career in commercial real estate, a chapter now documented on JayAdoni.com.

Before real estate, he cofounded L.J. Simone with Lance Rubin and, as WWD reported, hired Steve Madden there as a sales rep.

After Pentland Brands acquired LJ Simone in 1993, he moved into commercial real estate in New York and set up Harbor Park Realty, LLC, of which he is the sole member. He also served as president of Cove Associates, as The New York Times reported on June 23, 2002.

His projects focused on food and everyday retail. In Glen Cove, on Long Island's North Shore, he developed a supermarket site that was later sold to the Ahold group. He also developed a supermarket that was later sold to King Kullen, the Long Island grocery chain, and built a shopping center anchored by a Walgreens pharmacy.

He later returned to fashion with PLV Studio. Today he works in his shoe factory in Brooklyn and runs a rare coin business.
