Mumbai, Maharashtra: As the winter travel season picks up across the Konkan coast, Revdanda Tourism has opened bookings for its beach camping season at Revdanda Beach, one of the quieter stretches of coastline near Alibag. The company, which has been running overnight beach camps since 2020, has hosted more than five thousand campers across over a hundred weekend camps, and this season brings the same format back with updated packages for families, couples, friend groups and corporate teams.
Revdanda sits a short drive from the main Alibag market, near the old Portuguese fort that gives the beach its name. Unlike the more commercial parts of Alibag beach and Nagaon, Revdanda has stayed relatively untouched by heavy tourist footfall, which is part of why it has become a preferred spot for travelers looking for a beach camping experience rather than a crowded resort weekend.
"People come to Alibag expecting a hotel room with a sea view. What we offer is different. You sleep a few metres from the water, the fire is lit right on the sand, and there is nothing separating you from the coast," said a spokesperson for Revdanda Tourism. "We have run this campsite through five winters now, and the thing that keeps people coming back is not the packages or the pricing. It is that the beach still feels quiet even on a weekend."
Each camping package includes a sea facing tent with bedding, dinner and breakfast, evening snacks and a bonfire, with higher tiers adding barbecue, DJ nights and early check in with a welcome lunch. Packages currently start at 999 rupees per person. The company also runs dedicated packages around the New Year period, which it says are its highest demand dates of the year, along with a growing number of corporate bookings from teams based in Mumbai looking for an offbeat alternative to a conference room offsite.
The camping season at Revdanda runs from October through May, pausing through the monsoon months when heavy rain and rough sea conditions make tent stays unsafe. The company reports that its busiest window falls between the first week of December and the last weekend of January, with October, November and the March to May stretch offering a quieter, less crowded version of the same experience at similar pricing.
Revdanda Tourism operates its campsite with a fresh, on site kitchen rather than outsourced catering, a decision the company says has been central to reducing the food related complaints common at beach camps run by aggregators who do not manage their sites directly. Tents are checked each morning for sand drainage and stake stability, and the campsite maintains night staff along with separate washroom facilities, a detail the company highlights for solo women travelers and families booking with children.
With demand for offbeat, nature based weekend trips continuing to grow among travelers from Mumbai and Pune, Revdanda Tourism says it plans to expand its capacity for the upcoming peak season while keeping its packages focused on the same coastline it has operated on since it started.
