Revdanda Tourism launches overnight beach camping packages in Alibag, offering tents, bonfire nights, and local Konkan meals along the quiet Revdanda coastline

Alibag, Maharashtra, September 2026: Revdanda Tourism, a local travel operator working along the Konkan coast, has introduced a set of overnight beach camping packages centered around Revdanda beach in Alibag. The move comes as demand grows among travellers from Mumbai and Pune for short, outdoor weekend trips that go beyond standard resort stays.

The new packages are built around Revdanda beach, a quieter stretch of coastline near the historic Revdanda Fort and the mouth of the Kundalika river. Unlike some of the more commercial beaches in Alibag such as Nagaon and Akshi, Revdanda sees lower day-trip footfall, which the operator says makes it better suited for an overnight camping experience.

Each package includes tent setup with sleeping arrangements, a bonfire for the evening, and meals drawn from local Konkan-style cooking, including fresh seafood where guests prefer it. Depending on the package tier, guests also get access to activities such as a short boat ride, a walk to Revdanda Fort, or additional time exploring nearby stretches of coastline including Kashid and Kihim.

"People are not looking for another hotel room anymore, they want a night that actually feels different from their week," said a spokesperson for Revdanda Tourism. "Camping directly on the beach, with a fire going and the tide close by, gives people something a resort simply cannot replicate. Our focus has been on getting the basics right, checking tide timings before every trip, working with local kitchens for meals, and making sure the tents hold up through the night."

The operator has positioned October through February as the ideal window for these trips, citing calmer seas and comfortable night temperatures once the monsoon clears. Overnight camping is paused during the peak monsoon months from June to September due to rough sea conditions along the Konkan coast.

Transport options for guests include a three to three and a half hour drive from Mumbai via the Mumbai-Goa highway, or a faster route combining a one-hour ferry crossing from Gateway of India to Mandwa jetty followed by a short taxi ride to Revdanda. Revdanda Tourism also offers transfer coordination as part of select packages.

The company says its packages are designed for a range of travellers, including groups of friends, couples looking for a quieter beach experience, and corporate teams organising informal offsites. Families travelling with children are advised to inform the team of their group's needs in advance so tent placement and evening schedules can be adjusted accordingly.

With this launch, Revdanda Tourism aims to position the Revdanda-Alibag belt as a serious alternative to more crowded coastal getaways near Mumbai, built specifically around local knowledge of tides, weather, and the surrounding fishing villages.
