Voltec Services is proud to announce it has been recognised with a 2026 NECA Excellence Award for the successful delivery of the RGM Truck Maintenance Facility in Townsville. The award acknowledges excellence in commercial electrical construction and celebrates the company's commitment to technical innovation, quality workmanship, safety, and project delivery.

Presented by the National Electrical and Communications Association (NECA), the NECA Excellence Awards represent Queensland's highest recognition for outstanding achievement across the electrical and communications industry. Receiving this honour is a significant milestone for Voltec Services and reflects the expertise, professionalism, and dedication demonstrated by the entire team throughout one of the company's most ambitious projects to date.

Delivered in partnership with CiteCon for RGM Maintenance, the RGM Truck Maintenance Facility is the largest and most technically complex construction project undertaken by Voltec Services. From the earliest Design and Construct (D&C) tender phase through to commissioning and final handover, the project demanded exceptional planning, collaboration, and technical capability to deliver a high-performing electrical solution within a dynamic construction environment.

The project encompassed a comprehensive scope of electrical and communications works, including underground electrical infrastructure, mains and sub-mains cabling, transformer coordination, switchboard design and installation, complete structured data and communications networks, overhead crane electrical systems, extensive external lighting, and specialised electrical installations across multiple warehouse facilities. These works required meticulous coordination and precision to support a large-scale commercial development designed to accommodate heavy vehicle maintenance operations.

A defining feature of the project was Voltec Services' delivery of the facility's structured data network as a CommScope Certified Provider. This internationally recognised certification enabled the installation to qualify for a 25-year warranty, providing the client with long-term confidence in the reliability and performance of its communications infrastructure while demonstrating Voltec's commitment to delivering solutions that exceed industry standards.

Throughout construction, the Voltec Services team consistently demonstrated the adaptability and professionalism required to navigate evolving project requirements, weather-related challenges, and ongoing design refinements without compromising quality or project timelines. Their ability to proactively manage variations, maintain strong communication with stakeholders, and deliver defect-free outcomes contributed significantly to the project's successful completion. This disciplined approach earned high praise from CiteCon, which commended Voltec's professionalism, responsiveness, site leadership, and consistently high standard of workmanship.
