DUBAI, United Arab Emirates – November 1, 2026 – Febno Technologies has outlined electronic invoicing requirements and technology preparation considerations for businesses operating in Oman and the United Arab Emirates, where regulatory changes are introducing new processes for invoice generation, exchange and reporting.
In the UAE, the electronic invoicing framework is being introduced through a phased implementation schedule. Businesses with annual revenue of AED 50 million or more are required to appoint an Accredited Service Provider by October 30, 2026, with implementation scheduled from January 1, 2027. Businesses below this revenue threshold have until March 31, 2027, to appoint a provider, with implementation scheduled from July 1, 2027. The framework requires businesses to prepare their accounting and ERP systems for structured electronic invoice exchange.
Oman is also progressing with its Fawtara electronic invoicing programme under the Oman Tax Authority. Based on the published implementation schedule, VAT-registered businesses with annual supplies exceeding OMR 5 million are scheduled to enter the first implementation phase from April 1, 2027. Other VAT-registered businesses are scheduled to follow from October 1, 2027. The transition involves structured electronic invoice formats and integration between businesses, service providers and the tax authority.
Febno Technologies provides country-specific information for businesses preparing for these changes.
