The community station, founded by Matthew Kayne, has revealed a new logo. It pairs the station name with a signal icon, three arcs of sound reaching out from the corner, which reflects the station’s mission to get great music and real stories out to everyone who wants to hear them. The new look appears first on the website at welcometosugarkayneradio.com, and the social media and app artwork will follow over the coming weeks.
The rebuilt website has been designed around the listener. A new player bar sits at the bottom of every page, so visitors can press play and stream the station live while they browse. It has a volume control and the option to open a full player. The song playing right now and the show on air update by themselves, the homepage shows the next shows in the line-up, and the full week sits on the schedule page.
The menu has been simplified into three clear sections: Listen, Station and Get Involved. Every page has been built to work just as well on a phone as on a computer. From the homepage, visitors can also catch up on past shows, check out the Song of the Week, meet the presenters, request a song, and see the station’s latest news and Instagram posts.
The new website was designed and built by Media Street, a digital marketing agency based in Exeter, Devon. Media Street has worked closely with Sugar Kayne Radio to bring the new look to life online, creating a website that makes it simple for listeners to find their favourite shows, press play and stay connected with the station.
The new look arrives as the station continues to grow, bringing more community voices, lived experiences and real stories to the airwaves. The station sums it up in its message: “Big news. Bigger voices.”
Founder Matthew Kayne said: “Sugar Kayne Radio has always been about giving people a place to be heard, and I wanted our look to be as bold as the voices on our airwaves. The new brand and website feel like us: loud, proud and welcoming to everyone.
“Making it easier for people to listen was really important to me. Whether you’re on your phone or your computer, you can now press play from any page and hear what’s on straight away. I’d like to thank the team at Media Street for all their hard work in creating the new website. It’s the same station, the same music and the same community, just with a fresh new look. I’d love listeners to have a wander around the new site and tell us what they think.”
Listeners can explore the new website and tune in live at welcometosugarkayneradio.com.
