Force Plates, Jump Mat Testing, and Why Major Combines Now Measure Vertical Height Mechanically
Force plates never observe the jump directly. Two platforms sit under the athlete, one beneath each foot, capturing ground reaction data throughout the movement. Software then calculates a height from those inputs.
