ViceVersa Tools Frees Apple Mail Messages From Their Own Format With New EMLX to MHTML Converter

The new tool converts Apple Mail's EMLX files into MHTML web archives, packaging each message into a single self-contained file. It is available now as a free trial and full license from the ViceVersa Tools website.

NEW DELHI, India — September 15, 2026 — ViceVersa Tools has released an EMLX to MHTML converter, adding another format pair to the company's growing MHTML export lineup. The tool takes EMLX files, the format Apple Mail uses to store individual messages, and turns each one into a standalone MHTML archive that opens in a browser.

EMLX files are built to work inside Apple Mail's own storage structure, which means a message pulled out of that structure on its own usually isn't something another program can just open. That's fine as long as everything stays on the same Mac, but it becomes a problem the moment someone needs to hand a message to a colleague, move it into a records system, or just read it on a machine that isn't running Apple Mail. MHTML sidesteps that by keeping a message's text, formatting, and any embedded content bundled into one file, so the person on the other end doesn't need Apple Mail, or any particular mail client, to open it.

What's launching
This release covers a single conversion path — EMLX to MHTML — and the product page is upfront that it doesn't work in reverse; there's no MHTML-to-EMLX option bundled in. Setup follows three steps: point the application at the EMLX files, select MHTML as the output format, and choose a destination folder before converting. The tool processes files individually or by folder, and output is one MHTML file per source message, which keeps each archive self-contained rather than bundling everything into a single combined file.
The release slots into a category ViceVersa Tools has been building out over recent weeks, which already covers MHTML export from formats including EML, MSG, MBOX, and PST.

"EMLX is one of those formats that works great until the message needs to leave the machine it was created on," a ViceVersa Tools spokesperson said. "Turning it into something a browser can open on its own solves that without asking anyone to install Apple Mail somewhere it was never meant to run."

Availability
The EMLX to MHTML converter is available now for Windows, with a free trial download offered directly from the ViceVersa Tools website so users can test the conversion before committing to a full license. Personal, professional, and technician license tiers are listed on the product page for continued use beyond the trial: https://www.viceversatools.com/emlx-mhtml.php

About ViceVersa Tools
Most email migration software tries to do everything at once, which is part of why so much of it feels bloated for a job that's usually just "get this mail from one format into another." ViceVersa Tools took the opposite approach, building each converter around one specific format pair instead of one large program trying to cover every combination. The result is a catalog of narrower tools, but ones that handle their particular conversion — whether that's EMLX, MBOX, PST, IMAP, or Office 365 — without the extra weight of features most users never touch.
