Institution now serves 3,000+ students across eight academic disciplines, following the grant of university status in 2024
DEHRADUN, India — [Month Day, 2026] — DBS Global University (DGU), formerly known as Doon Business School, today highlighted its transformation from a specialised business school into a multidisciplinary university, following the grant of university status in 2024. The University now serves more than 3,000 students across programmes in management, engineering and technology, computing, law, liberal studies, pharmacy, agriculture and media.
The transition builds on the institution’s long-standing foundation in management education through its BBA and MBA programmes, which established a model centred on industry engagement, career preparation and experiential learning. That foundation continues to anchor DGU’s academic approach as it expands into new disciplines.
A key feature of the expanded university is its School of Liberal Studies, which allows students to combine subjects across conventional boundaries — such as Economics and Data Science, Computer Science and Finance, English and Advertising, or Psychology and English — reflecting the University’s broader view that modern careers increasingly cross disciplinary lines.
Technology has also become a connecting thread across DGU’s programmes. Artificial intelligence, data analytics, cybersecurity and digital business are increasingly shaping decision-making in management, finance, marketing, media, law and entrepreneurship, and the University says its curriculum continues to evolve to reflect that shift.
